Julius Ellen: Paris is real mecca for every travel blogger

Julius is a 28-year-old famous world travel blogger. As his spontaneous self, he decided to travel to Paris, capital of France for the weekend and we had a chance to sit down with Julius himself to ask him about this trip.

How did you like Paris?

It was amazing! Truly one of the most beautiful cities I have seen so far. Paris is real mecca for every healthy travel blogger.

You were only there for a weekend; do you think it was long enough or would you have rather stayed longer?

It was a quick decision made to go and at the time I only had a weekend free. I did a lot and saw a lot in three nights but next time I go to Paris, I hope to stay longer.

What did you see when you were there?

I visited Moulin Rouge, Louvre, Arc de Triomphe, Les Invalides, Tuileries Garden, and of course The Eiffel Tower. I also took a ride on Paris’ public bicycle network and the metro.

Wow, you really did see a lot! What was your favourite part of the trip?

Definitely the Eiffel Tower. I went at night so I was able to experience the light show. It is a sight I will never forget. It was absolutely breath taking and suggest to anyone who is going to Paris to go see it.

Awesome! That’s great to know! What hotel did you stay at?

I stayed at the Hotel Duo, which was located in the Paris City Centre. It was a great location and very clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful as well.

And how was the food? Did you try anything exciting?

To my surprise, I really enjoyed the food. From fresh croissants in the morning to confit de canard (grilled preserved duck), it was very tasty. My favourite café was Breizh Café that a local suggested to me. It is an excellent creperie with beautiful crepes for lunch, dinner, and you can’t for get about dessert.

That sounds incredible! I’m getting hungry! What kind of crepe did you try?

I went one day for lunch and another day for dessert! For lunch I had the Cancalaise, which was filled with smoked herring, crème fraiche and herring roe. For dessert I had the classic crepe with chocolate hazelnut butter in it. Both were very delicious.

It does sound delicious! Was there anything you didn't do that you wish you had the chance to?

I really wanted to go to a flea market. They have them all over the world and I try to visit as many as I can to see what kind of hidden treasures I can find. Unfortunately, I just didn't have the time to go in Paris. I’m planning on going back again soon, so I’m not too worried about missing out on that this past trip.

That’s very interesting! I have been to a few flea markets during my travels but I have never thought about making a point to see one every place I go. Anyways, thank you so much Julius for your time and stories, you’re making me want to plan a spontaneous trip to Paris sometime soon. Thank you too.
